Bonotto created an original project for Casa Italia, for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games (held in July 2021 due to COVID).
A large installation signed by master weaver Giovanni Bonotto.
A 43-square-meter tapestry covering the entire facade of the building, made from 500 kilos of yarn derived from recycled PET bottles.
The tapestry's pattern, inspired by the Italian tricolor, combines graphic and symbolic elements that recall Italian culture in dialogue with Japanese aesthetics, representing the traditional "sashimono" carpentry technique.
